TechEase ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. TechEase is designed for simplicity — we collect as little data as possible.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Questions you type. The text of your iPhone help questions is sent to Google's Gemini AI API to generate answers. We do not store your questions on our own servers.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data. We may collect anonymous analytics (e.g. how often features are used, crash reports) via a privacy-friendly analytics tool. This data does not identify you personally.
- Purchase status. Whether you have an active Pro subscription is verified locally on your device through Apple's StoreKit framework. We do not store payment information.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number.
- We do not require account creation.
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

Third-Party Services
Google Gemini AI API
Your questions are processed by Google's Gemini AI. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We use prompt caching to minimize data sent per request.
Apple In-App Purchases (StoreKit)
Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment details. Apple's Privacy Policy applies to all transactions.
Push Notifications
Daily tips are scheduled locally on your device using iOS. No notification content is sent from our servers. We request permission before scheduling any notifications.
Data Retention
- Questions. Not stored by us. Google's data retention policies apply to API requests.
- Question history. Stored locally on your device only (Core Data / device storage). Deleting the app removes this data.
- Analytics. Aggregated, anonymous, and retained per our analytics provider's policy.
Children's Privacy
TechEase is designed for adults (age 60+) and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Choices
- Notifications. You can disable daily tips at any time in iPhone Settings → Notifications → TechEase.
- Question history. You can clear your history within the app.
- Analytics. We use privacy-respecting analytics that do not track individuals.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information. Your questions are transmitted over HTTPS. Question history is stored locally on your device and protected by iOS device encryption.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will update the "Updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
